Disclosure: Every quote below is a verified buyer’s product review, published on ronatelli.com through Reviews.io, reproduced as written and linked to its source. We read all 442 reviews of these four chains, the critical ones included, and the counts are our own. Figures were checked on October 29, 2026.
The Sergo, Duomo, Cana, and Alfo are Ronatelli’s four most-reviewed chains, with 442 verified-buyer reviews between them, 59% of all the reviews on the brand’s ten chains. We read every one, in every language it was written in, to find out what buyers say about each chain, which lengths they order, and what goes wrong when something does. All four are rated 4.8 out of 5. The differences are in the details: a foxtail woven square rather than round, a cable chain with no review below four stars, a heavy curb with the best-liked clasp, and a slim bamboo chain whose clasp is the part its reviewers would change.
How we read 442 reviews
- One source: the product reviews on ronatelli.com, which Reviews.io collects from buyers after each order. 441 of the 442 are marked as verified buyers.
- Current chains only: our totals match the review count on each product page on October 29, 2026.
- Every rating counted: the figures include the one-, two-, and three-star reviews. Of the 442, 85 are a star rating with no comment.
- Read, not keyword-searched: we tallied the length, clasp, and pendant comments by reading each review, including those written in German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, and Polish. One review can count toward more than one subject.
- Quoted as written: the quotes are four- and five-star reviews, with the reviewers’ own spelling and punctuation. Names are shortened to a first name and initial, and each quote links to the chain’s review page on Reviews.io, where it appears under the same name and date.
Key takeaways
- All four are rated 4.8 out of 5, and 96% to 100% of their reviews give four or five stars.
- The Duomo is the only one with no review below four stars: 71 five-star and 13 four-star reviews out of 84.
- 22″ is the most-ordered length on all four, about a third of orders, in line with Ronatelli’s size guide, which calls it the most common men’s length. The slim Alfo sells as many at 20″.
- The clasp is where they differ. The Cana’s box clasp is the best liked; the Sergo’s and the Duomo’s lobster clasps are praised but can be fiddly; the Alfo’s is the one reviewers would change.
- Check a pendant’s bail against the clasp: four reviewers of the Sergo and the Alfo couldn’t get a pendant over the clasp end, which is wider than the chain.

The four chains at a glance
Ratings and review counts as shown on each product page on October 29, 2026, from the most reviewed:
Ratings, review counts, and prices as shown on ronatelli.com on October 29, 2026; the star shares are our count of every review of each chain that day. Counts change daily; follow the links for current numbers.
All four round to 4.8, so the star breakdown is where they differ. The Duomo has no review below four stars at all. The Sergo has the most, 9 of its 200, and four of those nine are about delivery rather than the chain. The Cana and the Alfo have two each, all three-star ratings: the Cana’s carry no comment, and the Alfo’s are about the price and the return process.

Sergo foxtail chain: 4.8 from 200 reviews
4 mm foxtail, 20 to 26 inches, $329. Rated 4.8 out of 5 from 200 reviews on ronatelli.com, October 29, 2026.
Ronatelli’s most-reviewed chain is a 4 mm foxtail, a woven chain of V-shaped links, and when its reviewers describe it, they talk about the build and the weight: “substantial,” “nice and heavy,” “robust.” The product photos show it woven square, with a square end cap, and one reviewer calls it “box-shaped.” That shape divides opinion. Of its nine reviews below four stars, three are about the look: two buyers didn’t like the square profile, one of them having expected a thicker chain, and a third found it lighter than she expected. Four more are about delivery.
Its lobster clasp, with an engraved disc, is the best liked of the three lobster clasps here: five reviews call it heavy, sturdy, or easy to put on. Two had minor trouble with it, Romas D., below, finding the hook small and hard to latch, and two couldn’t get a pendant on, which we come back to below.

“Very well made chain. Thick, lays well on the neck. I have not seen anything else on the market with comparable aesthetics or quality. Very happy with the purchase”

“This chain is nothing short of exceptional. The craftsmanship of the necklace truly unique and because of the design you can do jumping jacks all day long and the chain would still fall perfect. I will absolutely be purchasing a second to compliment the one I just brought. PS – The chain legnth description and photos on the website are accurate.”

Duomo cable chain: 4.8 from 84 reviews
4 mm cable, 20 to 26 inches, $249. Rated 4.8 out of 5 from 84 reviews on ronatelli.com, October 29, 2026.
The Duomo is the simplest chain of the four, 4 mm oval links each joined at a right angle to the next, and the least expensive. It is also the only one with no review below four stars: 71 of its 84 reviews give five, and the other 13 give four. Reviewers single out the craftsmanship and the weight, and it is the chain they most often wear with a pendant, often a cross: nine say they wear one, and all but one like the match; the exception finds the chain darker than his silver cross.
Its lobster clasp, with an engraved flower disc, splits opinion. Three reviews praise it, and three found it fiddly to close, Dave S. because the ring it hooks onto is too small. None say it came open.
★★★★★
“Love this chain! Great weight and the clasp is unique in appearance. I wear multiple pendants on it. 5 stars.”

Cana curb chain: 4.8 from 79 reviews
7 mm curb, 20 to 26 inches, $499. Rated 4.8 out of 5 from 79 reviews on ronatelli.com, October 29, 2026.
The Cana is the widest and most expensive of the four, a plain, polished 7 mm curb. Its reviewers talk about weight and shine: Dirk S. and Doug N., below, both mention the heft, and one buyer who prefers a brushed finish found it a bit shiny at first. Another wished the chain came with its weight in writing; Ronatelli doesn’t list a weight for any of its chains.
It is the only chain in the collection with a box clasp and a side safety latch, and that clasp is the best liked of the four: five reviews praise it, two of them for the extra catch. Three four-star reviews are less sure of it: one buyer isn’t sure it will hold up over time, and two wish it had a better one. None say it came open, and the Cana’s only two reviews below four stars are three-star ratings with no comment.
★★★★★
“I absolutely love this chain! The quality is amazing it looks and feels premium. The shine is perfect, not too flashy but still catches the eye. It’s super comfortable to wear, and the length (55 cm) is just right not too short, not too long. It works with any outfit, whether casual or classy. Highly recommended!”

Alfo bamboo chain: 4.8 from 79 reviews
3 mm bamboo, 20 to 26 inches, $299. Rated 4.8 out of 5 from 79 reviews on ronatelli.com, October 29, 2026.
The Alfo is the slimmest of the four, a 3 mm chain of long polished links, and it has the highest share of five-star reviews, 86%. Reviewers praise the design and the craftsmanship, and Richard P., below, found it heavier than he expected. It is also the chain most often ordered short: as many buyers chose 20″ as 22″, and 20″ is the length that stays hidden under a buttoned collar, as our guide to wearing a chain with a suit explains.
The clasp is its weak point. Four reviews mention it, none of them positively: Gus H., below, says it came undone easily at first, two more wish it were bigger or stronger, and David C. couldn’t get a pendant’s bail over it. A fifth reviewer couldn’t get a charm onto the chain at all. The Alfo’s two reviews below four stars are about the price and the return process, not the chain.
★★★★★

“The clasp isn’t the best. Initially came undone very easily. I seemed to have sorted that issue out. It looks fantastic. Feels fantastic but the clasp to link the necklace is arguably worse than some stainless sub 100 dollar necklaces I own. This jewel deserves a better clasp”

Lengths: what buyers order and what goes wrong
Every chain here comes in four lengths, 20, 22, 24, and 26 inches (50, 55, 60, and 65 cm), at the same price. Ronatelli’s size guide calls 22″ the most common men’s length and suggests one size longer for a pendant or a broad build.
| Length | Ronatelli’s guide | Orders, these four | Orders, all ten |

The reviews bear the guide out: 22″ is the most-ordered length on all four chains, and across all ten. The differences are small. As many Alfo buyers chose 20″ as 22″, and the Sergo and the Cana sell more at 24″ than at 20″.
Few reviewers got the length wrong. By our count, seven buyers say the first length didn’t suit: five wanted it longer, one shorter, and one doesn’t say. Two of the five wanted more than Ronatelli makes, 28 and 30 inches, so for a thick neck 26″ is as long as it goes. One Sergo wearer gives a useful reference: his 22″ rides about 3 inches below the notch at the base of his throat.
★★★★★
“I bought this as a gift for my son and he was overjoyed! The quality and thickness of the chain are worth every penny. The length was perfect as well. Great purchase.”

★★★★★
“I like the serpentine pattern and the flat drape. 26” is a perfect length.”

- Measure your neck. A chain about 4″ longer than your neck sits just below the collarbone. Our chain length guide shows how to measure.
- If in doubt, 22″. It is the most-ordered length here and the one Ronatelli calls most common, which also makes it the safe length for a chain bought as a gift.
- One size longer for a pendant, as Ronatelli advises: a pendant hangs an inch or two below the chain.
- Keep the tag on until you’re sure. Ronatelli’s return policy accepts returns within 30 days of delivery if the piece is unworn, with its tags and original packaging, and a different length means a return and a new order. One Sergo buyer who didn’t like the look couldn’t send it back, because he had taken off the security tag to try it on.
- Budget for return postage. The buyer pays it, and one Cana buyer says insured return postage cost her more than $90.
Clasps and pendants: what reviewers say
Three of the four close with a lobster clasp topped by an engraved disc, which hooks onto a small ring at the other end of the chain; the Cana closes with a box clasp and a side safety latch. The clasps are read from Ronatelli’s product photos; the counts are our reading of every review that mentions the clasp or a pendant.
| Chain | Clasp | Positive | Minor trouble | Felt weak or came open | Pendant wouldn’t go on |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sergo | ClaspLobster clasp, engraved disc | Positive5 | Minor trouble2 | Felt weak or came open0 | Pendant wouldn’t go on2 |
| Duomo | ClaspLobster clasp, engraved disc | Positive3 | Minor trouble3 | Felt weak or came open0 | Pendant wouldn’t go on0 |
| Cana | ClaspBox clasp, side safety latch | Positive5 | Minor trouble0 | Felt weak or came open3 | Pendant wouldn’t go on0 |
| Alfo | ClaspLobster clasp, engraved disc | Positive0 | Minor trouble1 | Felt weak or came open3 | Pendant wouldn’t go on2 |
The Cana’s box clasp is the best liked, and none of its reviews say it came open. The lobster clasps on the Sergo and the Duomo are praised as heavy and strong, but five reviewers had minor trouble with them, two because the hook or the ring it fits is small. The Alfo’s is the one reviewers would change: one says it came undone at first, and others wish it were bigger and stronger. Across all 442 reviews, that is the only clasp reported to have come open.
The pendant comments are the most useful. Twelve reviewers wear a pendant on the Sergo or the Duomo, and eleven are happy with it; the twelfth finds the Duomo darker than his silver cross. Four, on the Sergo and the Alfo, say the pendant wouldn’t go on, and three of them blame the clasp end: the engraved disc, and on the Sergo the square end cap, are wider than the chain itself, so a bail that fits the chain can still stop at the clasp. Martin S., writing in German, found most pendants hard to fit, or impossible without widening the bail with pliers.
★★★★★
“Beautiful workmanship. My only wish is that the clasp was a smaller diameter. I had really planned to put a pendant on it but the pendant bail doesn’t have enough clearance.”
David C. (United States), verified buyer · Alfo bamboo chain, 20″ (50 cm) on Reviews.io · July 2024
★★★★★
“I ordered a chain and cross pendant, both are excellent quality in person. Great packaging and tips for care and use. I would highly recommend them. -Scott J (Dallas Texas)”
Scott J., verified buyer · Sergo foxtail chain, 24″ (60 cm) on Reviews.io · October 2024
- Check the bail against the clasp, not the chain. Ronatelli lists its pendants as fitting chains up to 6 mm, but it doesn’t give the size of its clasps. If a pendant is going on, try it as soon as the chain arrives, with the tag still on. Our guide to the best chain for a pendant covers bail fit in full.
- Don’t force a bail open. Bending it with pliers can mark or weaken it; a jeweler can fit a larger bail instead.
- Talk to Ronatelli about a faulty clasp. Its lifetime warranty covers a clasp’s “failure under normal conditions,” so ask before you pay for a repair.
What the lower ratings say
Only 13 of the 442 reviews, 3%, give three stars or fewer, and none of them is for the Duomo. We read all of them. By subject:
- Delivery: 4, all for the Sergo, including one parcel lost after an address error and one buyer who couldn’t follow his order’s progress.
- The look: 3, all for the Sergo: two buyers didn’t like its square profile, and a third found it too light.
- The length: 1, a 20″ Sergo its buyer found shorter than he expected; he wishes he had ordered the next size up.
- The price: 1, an Alfo buyer who found it too high.
- The return process: 1, an Alfo buyer who found it complicated.
- No comment: 3, a star rating and nothing else: one for the Sergo, two for the Cana.
Delivery time also comes up in the higher ratings, and it is the main subject of Ronatelli’s critical reviews on Trustpilot and Reviews.io; our roundup of 56 Ronatelli customer reviews covers it.
The other chains
The other six chains have fewer reviews, between 26 and 71 each, as shown on their product pages on October 29, 2026:

The Parma and the Fulda have the highest averages in the collection, 4.9, and like the Duomo, neither has a review below four stars. For all ten side by side, see our comparison of Ronatelli’s chains, or browse Ronatelli’s chain collection.
FAQ
Are Ronatelli chains good quality?
Their buyers think so. Of the 442 verified-buyer reviews of the four most-reviewed chains, 97% give four or five stars, and the praise is mostly for the build, the weight, and the finish. The complaints that recur are delivery time and, on the Alfo, the clasp.
Which Ronatelli chain has the best reviews?
Of the four most reviewed, the Duomo: 4.8 out of 5 from 84 reviews, none of them below four stars. Across all ten, the Parma and the Fulda have the highest averages, 4.9 from 32 and 56 reviews.
What length Ronatelli chain should I buy?
If you are unsure, 22 inches: Ronatelli calls it the most common men’s length, and it is the most-ordered length on all four chains here. For a closer fit, measure your neck and add about 4 inches for a chain just below the collarbone, and go one size longer for a pendant.
Will a pendant fit on a Ronatelli chain?
Check the bail first. Ronatelli lists its pendants as fitting chains up to 6 mm, but four reviewers of the Sergo and the Alfo found a bail that wouldn’t pass over the clasp end, which is wider than the chain. Try the pendant as soon as the chain arrives, with the tag still on, so you can still return it.
Do Ronatelli chain clasps come open?
Rarely, going by the reviews. One Alfo reviewer says his came undone easily at first; none of the 442 reviews says a Sergo, Duomo, or Cana clasp came open. The Cana’s box clasp with its side safety latch is the best liked of the four.
Are the reviews on ronatelli.com real?
They are collected by Reviews.io from buyers after each order, and 441 of the 442 we read are marked as verified buyers. The low ratings are public too: each chain’s page on Reviews.io lists the one-, two-, and three-star reviews alongside the rest.
Bottom line
Ronatelli’s four most-reviewed chains earn their ratings: across 442 verified-buyer reviews, 97% give four or five stars, and not one review of the Duomo goes below four. Choose the Duomo for the safest first chain at the lowest price of the four; the Sergo for a woven 4 mm chain with the longest record, knowing it is square rather than round; the Cana for a heavy 7 mm curb with the best-liked clasp; and the Alfo for a slim chain to wear close to the neck, though its clasp is the part its reviewers would change. Whichever you choose, 22″ is the safe length, and if a pendant is going on, check its bail against the clasp before the tag comes off.
